Cedar Rock Yoga Studio offers a friendly atmosphere in a spacious studio in the woods.   The studio is fully equipped with props used in the Iyengar hatha yoga method.   Instructions are clear and precise.  Students are encouraged to work at their own level and to listen and respect their bodies' feedback and limitations.   We offer several Beginners and Level II classes.

Our mission at Cedar Rock Yoga Studio is to offer the Conway area an opportunity to study the art of yoga in a serene supportive environment.  Each class offers a personal means of self-exploration to help us reduce physical discomforts, mental stress, and lead more fulfilling lives.

Yoga is not about having an empty mind, but rather to calm the mind.   It is relatively easy to be physically still.  It is very difficult to calm the constant chatter of our minds.  This style of yoga helps us do this by starting with the external, finite self through the postures and breathing techniques, and moving inward to the internal, infinite self.

The poses are designed to affect every part of the body.  Every part receives proper circulation, which is the key to improving the immune system.  When our bodies are physically stronger, it is reflected mentally and emotionally.  When we are more flexible, not only can we move better, but our mental attitudes are also more flexible.   When we are strong without any flexibility, we can become physically and mentally rigid.   At the same time, if we are flexible without having strength, we can become weak and unstable.
