EARA Picnic and Annual Meeting
Saturday, September 20th
Where: Pinnacle Mountain State Park at the pavilion on the Big Maumelle River, which is at the base of the Visitor's Center and not at the Park itself. A secondary site is Cadron Blockhouse. The meat/main course will be catered (e.g., bbq, etc) so we can all, hopefully, relax a bit. Folks bring a covered dish of a side dish or desert. EARA will provide: Plates and utensils, in addition to your side dish bring drinks. The Board will meet prior to the annual picnic and the Annul Meeting will be after we eat. Capital Campaign for Keelboat Carport
Board Approves Campaign at January 2008 Meeting
The most common cause of a ship or boat to deteriorate is moisture and sunlight. Since the keelboat "Aux Arc" has been built and launched she has been under some type of cover. For the last three years she has been stored at Chuck Martin's place, in north Pulaski County, under a carport with a tarpaulin for a roof. We have replaced the tarpaulin, once, after two years. However, we are constantly having to adjust the tarpaulin and to push rain water off the tarpaulin. To that end, the EARA Board approved a capital campaign to raise money to purchase a metal roofed carport. The estimated cost is $2,000.00. We are half way there as to date we have raised $1,000.00
We are asking all to donate funds to purchase this metal carport. Since EARA is a 501 3(C)classification, any donations are tax deductible. Please send your donation to the EARA post office box and be sure to indicate that the donation is for the metal carport. You will receive a letter verifying your donation for your records.
